8/15/25 Angels Insider Expects Anthony Rendon to Be With Team in 2026. The Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher revealed whether or not Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon would stay with the team in the 2026 season. Rendon signed a seven-year, $245 million deal with the Los Angeles Angels in Dec. 2019, and the contract has proved to be one of MLB's worst in that timeframe.

8/13/25 Angels' Former All-Star Named Among Most Overpaid Players of 2025. When it comes to MLB contracts that haven't aged well, the Los Angeles Angels have a deal that has aged like most dairy products. All-Star third baseman Anthony Rendon was once one of the brightest stars in baseball. At the height of his powers, he played a pivotal role in the Washington Nationals' 2019 World Series run, smashing a pair of home runs and collecting six RBIs when his team was down three games to two in the Fall Classic against the Houston Astros, on their way to baseball immortality. About two months later, Rendon inked a seven-year, $245 million deal to become a member of the Angels, and the rest is history.

3/07/25 Angels Receive Nearly Failing Grade by ESPN Insider for Offseason Moves. The Los Angeles Angels made a flurry of moves this offseason, but ESPN insider David Schoenfield had nothing good to say about the Halos. Schoenfield gave the Angels a 'D+' for their work this winter, which certainly doesn't bode well for a team that is coming of a 63-win season. "Meanwhile, Anthony Rendon is already injured (and is expected to miss 'a significant amount of time') and the team announced Mike Trout will be moving to right field on a regular basis, although the possible replacements in center are Mickey Moniak (.266 OBP) and Jo Adell (.280 OBP, hasn't played regularly in center field since he was in the low minors in 2018)."
